State of Alaska
Senior & Disability Services

Our mission is to promote health, well being and safety for individuals with disabilities, seniors and vulnerable adults by facilitating access to quality services and supports that foster independence, personal choice and dignity.

Community Developmental
Disability Grant Program

The Community DD Grant Program (CDDG) addresses the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities for Habilitation, which is the acquisition or maintenance of skills to live with independence and improved capacity, and reduces the need for long-term residential care. Services that a person with a developmental disability (DD) may receive from the Program vary depending upon the person's age and unique needs.

Home & Community Waiver(s)

Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers allow people who would otherwise need an institutional level of care to live in their home or community and receive the care they need. These "waivers" are approved by the federal government and allow Alaska Medicaid to provide expanded services to people who meet the eligibility criteria for the specific waiver.

Mini Grants

Mini-Grants are a one-time awards made to individuals not to exceed $2,500 per recipient for health and safety needs not covered by grants or other programs, to help beneficiaries attain and maintain healthy and productive lifestyles.
